This place is a hidden gem in Wilkes-Barre. Their happy hour specials are great, especially the burgers on Thursdays! Our bartender, Matt, kept our drinks perfectly filled, and the ambience is calm and cultured. We will definitely return soon.

A local pub with oodles of types of beer and wings to match. I came for the wings since I heard so much about them. The sauce that I had was 50/50. If you like buffalo and blue cheese, this is the sauce for you. A divine mixture of spice and comfort of cheese.

Considering that it's nestled in between a number of boarded up stores and so close to college campuses, you'd almost expect this place to be a dive. It's not. It has a rather upscale vibe to it. It's a great place to have dinner with friends or to catch the game without fear that a frat boy fistfight will break out. . Which is not to say the place is off-putting. The menu consists of everything from buffalo wings to ahi tuna steak, and I have yet to order something here that was not delicious. And the beer selection is one of the best in the Valley, ranging from craft brews to NEPA favorite Yeungling Lager. Prices may be a bit higher than you'd pay for beer in other places, but I consider this a trade off to keep the aforementioned frat boys out. On weekends they typically have live entertainment that usually rises above the typical NEPA bar band fare. I really like this place. Give it a shot the next time you are in downtown W-B.

Out of the many, many bars in Wilkes-Barre this is one of the best. Always hosts interesting events including pub trivia, bingo, poetry readings, fundraisers... During the summer months the patio is a great place to eat or drink outside. I've seen some live music at The Other Side and there's always an eclectic mix of musicians, much different from the usual cover bands that play at most bars. Great drink specials and dinner menu - I recommend the homemade macaroni and cheese.

Been here a few time. One I got sesame seared tuna steak. It was cooked perfectly. Second time I got the Asian tuna salad, again the tuna was cooked perfectly. Husband got a burger which he really enjoyed. We also got an order of mild wing because the sauce is amazing. All of the food is really good. The atmosphere is very comfortable with fun framed drawing on the walls. There are several Tv's about but If you aren't into the "sports bar" thing you'd hardly notice them. The staff is very friendly and warm. This place is quickly becoming a favourite.

Yo B&U. Wanted to drop by and send you some propers for hanging tough all these years on that lifeless hunk of concrete known as Wilkes-Barre. I know it was touch and go there what was it? Seven or eight years ago now? Anyway, congrats! For the rest of you, listen to me. This place has the best carns darn chicken wings you are ever going to eat within probably a 50-mile radius of Wilkes-Barre. They're huge. Bieber huge. I am a professor of poultry in all its forms (baked, fried, Kardashian - you name it!) and I am telling you if you have never tried these wings ... well, then you probably also never had a pogo ball when you were a kid. I'm telling you these things are good. Sweet tap-dancing Christ these things are good. And so many flavors! Mild, hot, Sweet Thai, Hawaiian, 50/50, Teriyaki, Red Garlic, Guinness BBQ, Vader, and Cajun varieties. And you know what goes well with these wings? Yuengling. And after that? You got it. MORE Yuengling. (Come on - everyone knows this). These are award-winning wings in an area where people don't know a whole lot, but they do know Buffalo wings very well. And deep-fried Oreos. I know - I was surprised as well. And skip the blue cheese and celery. Or, you can order it, but you won't need it. Unless the band sucks, then you can throw it at them. Otherwise, these wings are just gonna knock you on your ass.

I'm not too picky about beer. Anything cold and cheap is generally OK with me. I'm not a fancy-schmancy brewski guy. That sort of thing is the province of Deadheads with substance-abuse problems who think if they stop ingesting LSD they're making progress. So I don't know if Bart and Urby's will satisfy your cravings for some "hoppy IPA with hints of melon." I do know that they serve great burgers for a decent price. Thursdays are burger nights. Fairly inexpensive and accompanied by the usual sides but sometimes that's enough. Service is nice across the board and the crowd is pleasant and about as laid-back as you will get a block away from the circles of hell that comprise the Hardware Bar, Mulligans and the Susquehanna Ale House.

I like to go here on Mondays for beer and wing specials, but I'm not the biggest fan of their standard hot wing sauce - it is a bit too sweet. I like a lot more tang to my sauce, personally. You can try their Vader wings (their hottest) if you're up for a challenge. I've not yet had the nerve to do it - I've heard that they are INSANE and very hard to finish. The pizza is okay, too, but I usually patronize B&U for drinks and tunes with friends, and skip the food altogether. As a local hangout, it's one of my favorite places in Wilkes-Barre.

One of my favorite bars in the valley. Great happy hour specials, but my favorite night to go is for yuengs and wings on Monday nights. Their wings are very good and they usually have some pretty interesting sauces to try, including a different set every Monday for wing night. My favorites are the Guiness bbq and chipotle ranch. This is a bar that has plenty of regulars, but it also caters to the college crowd as it is essentially on my alma mater's campus (Go Colonels!). I would stick to the typical bar food as I have never been all the impressed by their "upscale bar food" type items. During happy hour you can get some really great deals on their food, not just their drinks!

Great food, great service, awesome Atmosphere. We go here on occasion when we go downtown to catch a movie. The Chicken Francese is outta this world. The wings, as others have said are great. Calamari is pretty tasty too. Lightly battered and not too oily. If you're going here for drinks the bar's well stocked with top shelf liqueurs and craft beers with top notch bartenders there to serve them to you.

This is my go-to spot, hands down. I've been going here since I was going to school at Wilkes and I still live in the area and continue to go here. It really is great for all occasions. When my friends who aren't from the area ask me where to go, I always recommend going to Bart and Urby's and they're never disappointed. It's great for taking a date or if you want to go sit at the bar and watch a game with the your friends. I've had all kinds of food ranging from their weekly yuengs and wings night special, steak dinner, countless nightly dinner specials, monte cristo, chicken caesar wraps, empanadas, sweet potato fries, seriously, everything is awesome. They always have great beers on tap at a reasonable price and the service is always great. I haven't had a bad experience there in all the years I've been going there.

So a group of us went here tonight for dinner between work sessions. We had a little more than an hour to eat. We arrived, put our order in, then....sat. And sat. And sat (we did a lot of sitting). Eventually we had to leave to get back to work. Now here I sit, still hungry, because of the terribly slow service. I can't explain how disappointed I am, because I was looking forward to going to this place, which I had heard so much about. It wasn't even crowded! We just could not wait any longer. I can't imagine what the wait is on a busy night.

Best bar in the WB. Friendly, clean and cozy. Wide ranging menu and a great happy hour every day make it the place to be for us and our friends. Other places have come and gone downtown, but this place is the only one with staying power.

No better place in Wilkes Barre if you are looking for city dining style.

Been there twice. First time the service and food was excellent. The second time the service was very slow for no apparent reason, the place was half empty. The food was awful, burnt burger, cold, soggy fries. A "hit or miss" kind of place. Beer and wine and atmosphere are nice but do you want to chance it on the food and service?

The best fucking bar in Wilkes Barre. Quite possibly the best bar within a 30 mile RADIUS. Seriously, there are so many bars in the area too, B&U is professional, clean, dirt cheap, and fun as hell...it's pretty much a high school reunion when you step in, everyone knows everyone, and even if you don't know the regulars/staff, the company is super friendly...you feel like home instantly. Beer selection can not be beat. Check out the hottie they have plastered up on the wall next to the service station ;D

Great place in downtown Wilkes-Barre....comfortable, relaxing decor and great food. Whether you are looking for an appetizer or a full course meal Bart & Urbys offers an appealing menu and daily specials....we have always been made to feel at home while enjoying a delicious meal and drinks. Highly recommend giving them a try...you won't be disappointed.

I've been here plenty of times. Relaxing atmosphere. The wings served here are definitely in the running next to Whiskey Business. Great wing sauce choices. I was there last week for my birthday and tried their featured sauce: hot and spicy thai. Were they ever hot! Muy bueno! The house salad is out of this world. Great mix of salad toppings and dressing. Way to go on this awesome salad! :)

I have been here many times now. The food, atmosphere, drinks, and service keep me coming back. I usually go during happy hour since the appetizers are very cheap as well are the drinks. They have a nice rotating selection of draft beers for 2 dollars during Happy Hour. The onion rings are delicious and you get a nice portion for the 2 dollars during happy hour. The best Happy Hour deal is the chicken tenders. 4 dollars for 3-4 nice tenders along with a heaping of fries. Plus your choice of sauce. Their cajun and spicy thai are phenomenal. Service is almost always friendly and attentive. There were several occasions where the service was not so great. Twice the bar has gotten my cocktails wrong, but they are always quick to remedy that and get me the proper drink. This is a great place to hang out with friends. The lighting is always relaxing.

Bart & Urbys is a hidden gem in the WB. I uncover more wonderful things about it with each visit. It's my favorite place to stop for a couple beers and a quick bite.

After trying another dump, see my review on Mulligans, we ended up here. When it first opened we hit it a few times but but got turned off by the obvious special treatment the so called regulars get. Including his highness the mayor. That being said, we hadnt been here in a while so i was sort off hesitant to go but wifey wanted too so..... Not bad, bartender was on the ball, beer selection was good and food was pretty fair. A bit lean on serving size however. The place could use a little sprucing up too. All in all, for downtown WB not the worst choice.

The atmosphere here is unmatched anywhere in Wilkes-Barre. The wings are delicious - check them out for Wings & Yuengs on Monday night. Drink selections are great. Nice, quiet atmosphere during the week. The atmosphere keeps me coming back.

I've been here many times, yet every time I go, I ask myself why. The atmosphere is great, very upscale and professional. Service is good when not crowded, but once the bar and tables are full, good luck getting a drink. There is not enough room to stand two deep at the bar, so it turns into a big mass of people fighting to get drinks and the bartenders cater to the regulars. The beer selection is really good and prices are competitive. Where the establishment falls apart is their food. The menu is large and unique, but their attempt at putting a twist on classic bar food tends to miss the mark. Happy hour food is good, since its simple and does not require skill to prepare. Mostly battered and fried fare. I am basing this review on both a combination of past visits with a focus on my most recent dining experience. On this visit, I ordered what I believe was called the Bourbon Burger. It consisted of a massive burger atop a layer of bourbon flambeed apples (similar to cherries jubilee). This was topped with cheddar cheese and tempura battered bacon. I liked the sound of the apples so I gave it a shot and ordered the burger medium with hand cut fries. The burger arrived on a large plate piled with fries. Presentation was good and when I say that the burger was massive, it was enormous. The taste did not match the presentation. The burger was overcooked and closer to well than medium. The apples were so overcooked and plated on the lower bun with so much juice that they turned the bun to mush. The tempura battered bacon was overly greasy and lacked discernable flavor. The fries were slightly undercooked and had a raw potato taste in the center. I will probably end up going here again, as it is a nice atmosphere, but I will certainly not be ordering from the dinner menu. Stick to bar food like wing bites or empenadas and you'll enjoy your time.

This is a great hang out spot to have a few beers with a couple friends on a Friday night. The live music is always nice. The main menu food is pretty good but is really overpriced for portion and quality. Appetizers (during happy hour) are the best value here.

woman beating scumbags run this place. if you like to be treated like a scumbag and see defenseless woman get kicked in the stomach by overweight middle-aged dudes that work there, this is the place for you. besides that, the food is gross, they are racist towards African Americans and the entire staff is incompetent. fuck this place in its racist woman beating ass! I will only return there again to see it burn to the ground!
